Brooklyn – NY “If reports are true that Governor Andrew Cuomo received a seven-figure advance payment from Crown Publishing for ‘American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic’ (Oct. 2020, Crown), it would give him at least a motive to hide the number of nursing home deaths in New York at the time that he and his book agent were negotiating the deal.
“It is therefore imperative that Governor Cuomo immediately disclose to the public the specific dollar amount of that advance, as well as the amount of money he has made to date on book sales. Mr. Cuomo has an additional obligation to release all communications between himself, his agent, Crown Publishing, and members of his administration leading up to the book contract being signed, as we requested last week.
“Mr. Cuomo promised to be the most transparent governor in New York history when he ran for the office in 2010. He has been anything but. Release this information to the public that elected you now, Mr. Cuomo. It is our right to know it.”
